Hydrocolloid wound dressing is classified into PU type and autohesion type. The PU type consists of an outer substrate layer, a hydrocolloid matrix and a protection layer. The autohesion type consists of an outer substrate layer, a hydrocolloid matrix, an adhesion layer and a protective layer.
The main component of hydrocolloid matrix is a kind of hydrocolloid with very strong Hydrocolloid monomethylcellulose sodium granule(CMC) forming main dressing body together with hypoallergenic medical adhesives, elastomers and plasticizers etc.. The surface is a layer of semipermeable polymer membrane structure, forms gel when contacting with wounds exudate, keep wounds wet and avoid sticking to wound so realize painless dressing change. At same time, semipermeable membrane structure surface allows oxygen and water vapor exchanging, isolates foreign particulate and foreign matter such as dust and bacteria，protects exposed nerve endings, relieves topical pain without causing more mechanical injury to expedite wound healing.
